Preserve the Pictures of Your Family’s History
Think about those albums, boxes, or drawers full of old pictures from your childhood, passed down from your parents or grandparents. Those photographs contain precious images of life long ago -- perhaps the only visual reminders of people, places and events that shaped who you are.
Looking through them rekindles memories of days gone by, and reminds us of the faces we love and the experiences we cherish. Those are memories that we want future generations to be able to share as well. But the images of those memories are fading away – literally! The papers and chemicals that hold those memories won’t last forever. Exposure to light, heat and humidity, even time itself, gradually destroys the prints. One day they will be faded and deteriorated beyond recovery.
If you don’t take steps now to save the images contained in those pictures, they will be lost forever.
NexGen Images can help preserve the memories. We capture the images from paper or film and help you save them for future generations. By digitizing the images the fading and decay are stopped in their tracks. And once the images are captured, our advanced image processing technology can often recover details that are no longer visible in the paper pictures.
With your new collection of digital images you can preserve those precious memories of the past for future generations, providing a connection to the people and events that otherwise might be lost.
NexGen Image Preservation Services
Our experts, using advanced tools, provide results sure to delight future generations!
We digitally capture your images at high resolution, then inspect each one to ensure the image is faithfully captured. We return your digital images to you on a USB flash drive, along with your originals.
After digitizing your source material, we use state-of-the-art image processing software and AI-based tools, to clean and restore the original look of the images.
During this processing, we reduce noise, or grain, correct most minor artifacts, such as spots and small tears. Your images are sharpened to recover lost detail, then returned on a USB flash drive, along with the originals.
NexGen ENHANCED is usually sufficient to preserve your images. But, if your cherished photograph is really damaged, we can usually repair it, overcoming damage resulting from age, handling or poor storage conditions. We repair larger damage, including scratches, wrinkles, and cracks, and remove stray marks and mold spots. If the picture is extremely damaged we'll examine it and then talk with you about the possibilities and provide an estimate of the cost to fully restore it before beginning work.
Oh, and if you have old, black-and-white photos, our AI software can colorize them, providing a more life-like view of people, places, and events.
Your images are returned on a USB flash drive, along with the originals.

Our technology allows you to see old or damaged pictures like never before!
This image is a 100+ year old photograph that has been creased, has stains and mold spots, and hasn't been stored properly. We were able to remove the effects of time and storage conditions, and colorize it to provide a version that suggests how these three men appeared when the picture was originally taken, early in the last century.

How are NexGen Images services different from what I can do with my scanner at home?
There’s much more to image restoration and preservation than just scanning your pictures. Consumer scanners are great for scanning documents. Some models also are marketed as “photo scanners” and may deliver images that look good on the screen, but when you try and print them, they often don’t look quite right. NexGen Images does much more than those scanners can do. Our high-resolution scanners capture more detail without introducing “compression artifacts” or noise into the digital image. But the true value of our process comes after the image is captured. We adjust the images to remove much of the degradation and damage wrought by time and the elements, resulting in a more pleasing image. And simply scanning your photos does nothing to remove scratches, tears, stray marks, and creases. That’s what we do.
Can you provide a print of a restored photo?
Yes. For NexGen PREMIER restoration projects, we can optionally create a photographic print in addition to your digital file. For routine projects, however, we return only the digital images, which you can have printed anywhere that does photo printing.
Can I have the images printed myself?
Of course. They are your images! The files we return are in standard formats that should be suitable for printing up to 8x10 or even 11x14 sizes.
What about all the notes on my photo album pages? Can you save those?
When we capture your loose photos, we preserve both sides of the print. That way if there are notes on the back they are captured as well. When we process photo album pages you receive an image of the entire page, including any notes or labels on the page. With NexGen ENHANCED, you also receive individual image files of each f the photos on the page.
Do you remove photos from albums?
Many older photo albums used mounting methods that can damage the images you’re trying to save. They may employ glues or adhesives that stain or leave marks on the photo if you try to remove it. In extreme cases, the image is fragile and could be further damaged if removed from the album. For that reason, NexGen Images does not remove photos from photo album pages.
Are my original photos kept secure and private? Is there a risk of my photos being stolen and put on the Internet?
Your photos are received and stored securely. While we are processing your images, we keep your originals together in a secure container until time to ship them back to you.
Is my credit card information safe?
All details of your payment are handled by a third-party payment processing company and your card information never passes through any of our systems. You can read about their privacy and security practices at https://stripe.com/privacy .
What is the best way to ship my photos to you?
You can send them to:
1250 Scenic Highway S, Suite 1701-300
Lawrenceville, GA 30045
Most of our customers ship via UPS, but you can choose your favorite shipper.
How should I pack my pictures for shipping?
When shipping your precious photos, it is important to pack them so that they are not damaged in transit. For best results, separate them by size and stack them neatly, then wrap the stack in clean paper to protect the photos. Then place each stack into a sealed, waterproof bag (such as a zipper storage bag). When placing the bags into the box for shipping, pack them in such a way that they don’t slide or move around in the box. You can also elect to provide additional insurance when you ship the box. Talk to the people where you’ll be shipping our package for their advice and for options to ensure safe transport of your photos.
How do I pay for shipping?
The cost of shipping is not included in your order. If using UPS, you can pay for "round-trip shipping" at the time you ship the photos to us. You will receive a return shipping label, which can be inserted into the box or placed in an envelope on the outside of the package. If you choose this method, we add no extra charge for return shipping. If you don’t prepay for your return shipping, we will add a flat shipping charge of $27.50 to your order to cover the return shipping and our handling. Customers within 20 miles of Lawrenceville, GA can arrange to hand-deliver their photos, in which case shipping is free!
